The Spanish Language Team

The task of the team is the Spanish language support in the club.
The table below show what parts of the whole task are managed by who. They are all volunteers, who give their work and free time for Spanish speaking players, letting them play in the club.

Since the whole task is divided into sub-tasks, the load is less on the individual contributors, so they can do it next to their everyday job and their family.

Task Contributors Enough? Vacancy?
Base Text Editors
They maintain the Spanish texts of the server, check and correct them, and insert the new things also. The server can "speak" and "understand" in Spanish based on their work. Requires no direct contact with the players, this is a background job.

Forum Moderators
They keep their eyes on the Spanish speaking forums, and keep contact with the foruming players, answer their questions, etc. This sub-task requires some more online presence, especially if the forum traffic grows. Some forum knowledge is useful here, but these can also be learned.
- No Yes

A language support thougth safe if two contributors are for each sub-task. They help each other also, and, if something happens with one of them, the others can take that job temporarly.
Starting supporting a new language is best if the two-two contributors are given.

If you feel you can shoulder one or more of the above tasks, then contact us!

There is a mailing list for the Spanish Language Team, where they can talk each other, can talk about technical things too, so they can do anything that is important for the successfull work of the team.

The Spanish Language Team is under forming now.
Now the initial translations are in progress.
Still not enough volunteers has joined this team to start the Spanish language support.
As soon as all the necessary posts are taken and the team is over the initial translation phase, the support will be officially started.

Wilhelm Steinitz

SteinitzBorn in 1836 in Prague, world champion between 1866 and 1894.
He laid down the base of positional game, therefore he is known as the founder of the modern chess. No doubt, Steinitz has opened a new chapter in the history of the game. Because of his careness, efforts for the economical play, the great attackers of his age (Chigorin, Gunsberg) have lost in order. His approach was not appreciated by the age he lived in. Players didn't take too much care of the pawn, the structure of the game, opposing to Steinitz, who probably took too much care of these.
On the first official world championship, in 1886 in New York and in St. Luis, Steinitz played 10:5 with 5 draws against the Polish Johannes Hermann Zukertort. He defended his title against Isidor Gunsberg, and twice against Mihail Chigorin too. Then lost it in 1894 against Emanuel Lasker in the final.
Finished his life in 1900 in New York in a mental hospital.

Claiming Result

It is possible here that the innocent player claims any result in a game which has been terminated by his/her opponent's fault.
It's not clearly the best if the innocent player wins, especially not if the game just started or he/she has a loosing position.
Sometimes it's definitely wrong if our rating is over our real playing strength, therefore players can claim draw and losing beside winning, and can delete the broken game without any result.
This can happen if our opponent runs out of time and has no more vacation for the current year or his/her vacation has also elapsed, or when he/she simply changes their mind and leaves the club.
In these situation it's up to the innocent player, what result he claims for that game. His/her results change according to the choice, the guilty player loses independently.
So, we can claim the best result for us in broken games, which is not necessarily the winning.
Tournament games differ, those are won by the innocent player, there is no result claim there.
